cupping stuff

The Naga Center in Portland is a school for traditional Thai medicine, run by my teacher Nephyr Jacobsen. Nephyr is an amazing teacher and bodyworker and the Naga Center offers weekend workshops and five day intensives on Thai massage, cupping, scraping, herbs, Thai language classes…and study trips to Thailand.

HealthTraditions in Australia, the website of Bruce Bentley, and possibly the best cupping info on the web. There’s a fantastic interview with Bruce titled The Subtle Cup in the Essays section. While you’re there, also check out his article A Brief History of Cupping, and Gua Sha. Bruce is one of my cupping teachers and I highly recommend his workshops – his schedule is on his website, and our newsletter will let you know when he’ll be in the area.

Inner Balance in Vancouver, BC has some great cupping info as well as cupping and massage products. They used to have a storefront in Vancouver’s Chinatown that was a blast to poke around in. Alas, it is now internet order only.

Urban Therapeutic in Eugene is where we’re now getting workshop cups. Thanks Brenda!

Kalinka Store Elena sells my favorite squeeze bulb cups – glass bells with rubber bulbs. The weight and feel of them are best in their class. She also sells a set of facial cups that includes a very small (11mm) cup.

EarthSpa They sell a really sweet set of facial cups. Different than Elena’s – the sizes are a bit different, and the EarthSpa set includes an oblong shaped cup.
