Cupping | Boundaries

Monday June 9, 2025 | 9am-11:30am

4 supervised CE hours – Ethics/Communications/Boundaries
1 supervised CE hour – Cultural Competency
pre-registration required, $108
class is being held over Zoom

Our focus will be on the boundaries of the body’s distinct layers – and becoming articulate in the messages the layers are giving you. We’ll use the self massage sequence from the Reusi Dat Ton system as a framework to study the body layers, their inherent protective mechanisms, and how & why this material can enhance your cupping practice.

This workshop is designed for LMTs who already use cupping or scraping, or are planning on adding these therapies to their practice.

Material will include:

    • Pre-workshop reading – a general overview of Reusi Dat Ton practices and their relationship to Thai medicine, the body layers, and Thai Element Theory.
    • Pre-workshop practice – full-body self massage & joint mobilization exercises.
    • Zoom session – using these practices to inform & nurture your cupping work.
    • Post-workshop practice – putting these skills to use on yourself & a partner (we’ll set up either group or individual check-ins to assess the practice).

This class meets the requirements for 4 supervised/contact CEs for Oregon LMTs for the Ethics/Communications/Boundaries category, and 1 contact CE for the Cultural Competency requirement – and includes 2 ½ hours of preparatory reading & practice, and 2 ½ hours of classroom time.

Upon registration, you’ll be sent a Zoom link and some pre-workshop reading (you’ll need a copy of David Wells’ book). You’ll also need a Zoom account (free), a working camera & mic, a distraction-free space, and a tasty beverage of your choice.
