Thai Bodywork | Layers & Lines

June 1, 2, 8, 9, 2024
10am – 4pm (Pacific)
20 CEs for OR/WA LMTs
class held on Zoom – $500

This class will use the Thai self massage work from Reusi Dat Ton as a vehicle to study some foundational basics of Thai Bodywork – element theory and the layers of the physical body. We’ll look at identifying the individual layers, bodywork techniques to efficiently and effectively work the layers, and basic sequencing for full body and spot specific treatments.

Developed by the ancient Reusi (Thai spiritual ascetics), self massage practices were used for studying the body & medicine – and most likely evolved into much of what we now know as Thai massage. And of course, the work is fantastic self-care. (“Reusi Dat Ton” roughly translates to “the Reusi adjusts him/herself”)

What you will need:

  • a copy of DavidWells Self Massage and Joint Mobilization of Traditional Thai Yoga book
  • a few square feet of quiet, distraction-free space
  • a comfortable blanket or cushion to sit on
  • computer (with camera & microphone) & Zoom

No bodywork or Reusi Dat Ton experience is necessary for this class. If you’re interested in this material, but the dates/times don’t work – contact me or sign up for the newsletter for future offerings.
